As the Motorola Droid got famous for its Corning's Gorilla Glass it became must for many buyers as it protects the phones from cracking and breaking in case of sudden fall. This Glass is treated with salt bath which tempers the glass and make it strong as if an extra quotation is stuck to it the ions hold down to surface making it harder to break.
With so many expectations from Google Galaxy Nexus which will feature
the same or some improve feature high-end handset it was a suprise to
hear that the device will not feature any of Corning's Gorilla Glass on
the phone. As sources stated it was confirmed by a tweet sent by Corning
which erupted the rumors. The rumors came from a flyer that
incorrectly listed Gorilla Glass on the specs of the phone.
As of now to speak just because the Samsung GALAXY Nexus won't have the protection of
Gorilla Glass doesn't mean that it will shatter instantly the moment it
falls or touches your hand and for those of you on the fence between this model and the Motorola DROID RAZR, the latter's 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen is made from Gorilla Glass.
